holy cargo: happy halloween

The blessed mother on the left arrived, via donkey, to visit her aged, once barren cousin Elizabeth who was just a trimester ahead of her. The babies leapt in wombs and fun was had on the night of halloween. Not to mention trick or treaters asked us if we were really pregnant or just scandalous nuns.

Needless to say, one night in this condition was enough birth control for many years to come. Our backs hurt, we couldn't find our feet and driving was scary.

hope you're still on a sugar high from last night :)

calling all shoppers...

our lives took a dramatic turn today. so did our bank accounts.

the new target is here and it's hot. it's clean, beautiful, choked full of goodness at a decent price. what else can we ask for? their food section is actually not bad either. did i mention the separate escalator just for the carts? that alone is worth seeing.

as we ventured in the our new second home, we saw some familiar faces. Shout out the Heather and little man Finlay, who apparently is not buying into the new fashion trend of purple hats. Sorry if that put a damper on his target experience, H :)

Favorite house purchases:

*hats, lots of em: purple felt, newsie cap, navy beret
*moccasins
*66 cent ghiradelli chocolate bars
*purple flats (matches the hat)
*our fav z-bars
*meaningless excitement from the dollar spot

more to come...

the 417 things we like about fall....

last year's fall season: our fav pic of molly attempting to get out of the wagon

susan's proud ribboned pumpkin

this is the first chapter in the long installment of the things we all love about this season. According to Rach's calculations, each roommate would have to come up with 83.4 reasons....so maybe we will work with what we've got, buckle up:
(in no particular order)

1. Football (Ohio State, Navy, Red Skins, other cute NFL players)

2. Windows open (Down side: school buses, the scooter rental store next to us, and the garbage men yelling at 5 am twice a week)

3. Being able to use the heater in our bathroom after showers

4. Sweatshirts- ahhhh

5. Pumpkin patches (see photos from last year)

6. Soup

7. Planning our Christmas party (maybe one roommate enjoys this more than others...)

8. Halloween decor up Oct. 1 (Downside: creepy door decoration sounds like a creature clawing at the door)

9. Front porch sitting

10. Long walks around the Naval Academy stadium (Plus side: minor sweating)

11. Coffee/hot tea in the morning

12. Candles in every room, particularly Passion Fruit Guava (Downside: frequent scares that we burnt the house down from leaving it lit)
13. Our shows are back: The Office, Grays, Molly has a dozen other that she won't let us publish, Project Runway finales

14. Bird decor is finally in (We totally started that trend)
15. The new Target opens soon! (Plus side: other grocery stores are stepping it up, ie the cool new scanner guns at Giant)

16. McKendree late night dance parties that involve less sweating

17. Scarves
18. The mini pumpkin candy corn (Downside: Giant seems to have signed a deal refusing to sell these)

And what do you love about it??

a DVR with olympic proportions!

I would say our house is mildly to overly obsessed with the Olympic summer games. If you have missed any of the events, have no fear, our trusty DVR has captured every moment. Our other summer favorites like The Mole, Jon & Kate Plus 8, Project Runway and the classic Friends have had to take a back seat to clear the way for hours after hours of Olympic coverage.

Some of our favorite moments after week one of Beijing:

When the Chinese girl fell off the balance beam during the all around gymnastics.

During synchronized diving , when a commentator yelled "Tidal Wave!!!" when a Canadian diver made a slightly larger splash than expected.

Michael Phelps 100 Fly: He is Superman!

When Kerri Walsh found her lost wedding ring in the sand volleyball court.

Nastia & Shawn winning gold and silver while Alicia Sacramone was answering fan mail on facebook.

Things we are looking forward to: white water canoeing, speed walking, cheering for Tyson Gay in the track and field.

GO USA!!!

It's too late to Apologize

We'll be the first ones to admit, we're not great at keeping up this blog. To all out adoring fans, we apologize. It's nearly the end of summer and we have yet to bring you in on our exciting tales.

Have no fear, it's a stormy night, perfect for blogging and catching up on e mails, or if you're me, seminary assignments as well.

B eleven, B eleven

BINGO- or lack there of...

last weekend, Sus and Gabe ventured onto the Eastern shore to experience vera bradley bingo at the american legion. Out of 25 games, with 6 score cards each, we lost every single one. We didn't even win the raffles!! We were pretty upset at our fate, but it was all for high school kids to go to YL camp, so that was our only comfort.

Because we love Sus, and she loves to play jokes, we played a joke on her. We each get a shelf in the pantry and in the bathroom...but something happened to her shelves!

don't be fooled, it's biking season

by: sus

we have long wanted bikes to ride around and explore annapolis. anna had one, gabe's "townie" came in yesterday and my beach cruiser is coming in next week. but today is by far the nicest day of the year, it feels like it's 75 degrees out.

here are some pics from the inagural bike ride and a video of the race between anna and gabe.

any biking tips for us?

hi, we're new.

So we are in unchartered waters by entering this blogging world.

We just have a great time in our little corner of the world, and if nothing else, thought this would be a great way to journal our experiences. We expect little to no readership, but we will write as if this is our own little time capsule.

enjoy and bear with us as we learn :)
