thriftiness is the mother of all invention

so there are a few things we are good at here at mckendree...saving money may quite possibly be our finest. 

some recent things we have done to help in this not-so-great recession:

• selling clothing and household items to our local consignment shop. we'll let you know how much we make.
• we like to do street drive bys. tonight we found a large, awesome, like-new carpet from our neighbors. it will adorn our cement basement floors: no more cold feet for our basement dweller!
• we have begun to fall in love with shoppers grocery store. they now do double and triple coupons. tonight, yes tonight, rach and sus saved a combined $42 off their groceries just in clipped coupons. pretty darn good.
